At the 2005 Air Show at Le Bourget, Airbus showed the public an extraordinary demonstration of their know-how. The European aircraft manufacturer, now the worldwide leader, presented the "small" A318, a single aisle twin-engine aircraft with 120 seats, a four-engine aircraft A340 in its long version with 380 seats, and, most important of all, the A380.
The new giant of the air (560 seats) will not be put into service until 2006, but it received a star welcome just a month and a half after its first takeoff (April 27, 2005). Since it was not certified and the prototype was only supposed to have about a hundred flight hours, it was authorized to demonstrate all its qualities in the sky at Le Bourget.
This site is the 380-photo slide show of the introduction of the three Airbus aircraft.
It will always have 380 photos, but it should be improved (withdrawal of redundant images to make room for new photos) during the airplane's development.
Happy flying.
